Ms. Reyna’s 6th Grade Class News

MID-QUARTER PROGRESS REPORTS THIS WEEK – 3RD QTR

* Parents: Our classroom is in need of Wide-Ruled paper and pencils. Thank you. MID-QUARTER PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE SENT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH.

* BE PREPARED AND ORGANIZED FOR 3RD QUARTER! BRING YOUR PLANNERS TO CLASS.

* SCIENCE PROJECTS: MANDATORY! It is required that all students submit a science project for a grade. It will be worth 50% of the grade for 3rd QTR. DUE DATES ARE POSTED ON OUR CLASSROOM BOARD

* Reading Book required: “THE BREADWINNER” BY DEBORAH ELLIS. Our class will begin reading this novel shortly. I was able to purchase the books at a discounted price of $6.71. The books will be in this week. If you are able, please have your student bring $5.00. I will cover the rest.

* STUDENTS WHO “LOSE” OR “MISPLACE” HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK HANDOUTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE PARENTS SIGN A SLIP ACKNOWLEDGING IT BY REQUESTING AN ADDITIONAL COPY. STUDENTS MAY BE ASKED TO COME IN FOR LUNCH DETENTION FOR COPIES.

THIS WEEK : Homework. Stay tuned for changes.

Story this week: “Frontier Schools – Children of the Wild West” and Breadwinner Chapters 7-10.

MONDAY LESSON 63 All problems AND LAST WEEK’S MATH TEST RETAKES. Students who wish to improve last week test scores need to correct missed problem for half a point and create a new similar problem for another half a point.

TUESDAY – LESSON 64 – problems 1-30

WEDNESDAY – Lesson 65 all problems.

THURSDAY – Study Math Quiz completed in class Math Chapters 60-65. Study Spelling and Vocabulary

Expect to have a great week at school and and HOME! Practice our Character Traits! TRRFCC Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Respect, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

Dress Code

Parents please make sure that your child continues to adhere to the dress code. Some issues we have started to notice are:

- Undershirts must be red, white,

or blue. No other colors allowed.

- Belts are required (Miller’s

Surplus has these for only $2)

- Leggings may be worn but ONLY

if they are white or blue. Shorts/skirts must be

appropriate length, regardless if

leggings are worn.

- Jeans on Friday must be blue

jeans (no other colors allowed)

- Only the first Wednesday of

every month is $1 Dress Down Day
